About Me

An MCIPS procurement professional for over 20 years, Mark Lloyd-Jones has a wealth of experience gained working as a Procurement Officer and Category Manager within local authority procurement. Mark’s previous positions have included Wirral and North Wales Purchasing Organisation, Cheshire County Council, Wirral Borough Council, Cheshire West and Chester Council, and Liverpool City Council.

After leaving school, Mark worked in accounts, insurance sales, and as a police officer in the North Wales Police. Disenchanted with always seemingly looking for the worst in people, he left the force and spent some time in France before returning to a commercial environment in the UK. Mark began work in a local council and attended college to ultimately achieve professional MCIPS status (Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply).

Since qualification in 1990 he has worked continuously in procurement apart from a period in Flintshire County Council’s HR department as a Job Analyst/Evaluator. Procurement categories managed by Mark include ICT, Food and Catering, Children’s Services, Furniture, Investments, Cleaning & Hardware, Civil Engineering, Protective Clothing & Equipment, and White Goods.

Mark has now taken the decision to work for himself as a writer and e-consultant, and offer his considerable experience to businesses who are keen to win public sector contracts.
